TED MASUR'S feature film composing credits include Rounding Home, The Gay Bed & Breakfast of Terror, Homegrown, and most recently, Marlowe, a family feature for MarVista Entertainment. He has also scored several documentaries, award-winning festival shorts, in a wide variety of musical styles. In 2005-06, Ted worked as an arranger for composer, Michael A. Levine, for the CBS primetime dramas, Cold Case and Close to Home. In 2004, he was the recipient of ASCAP’s Steve Kaplan Award. Beyond film and television, performance venues have included Mission Dance Theatre, the Aspen Music Festival, the Mohawk Trails Concert Series, and the Juilliard School of Music.
In addition to his work as a composer, Ted teaches a class in film scoring at Idyllwild Arts Academy, where he is an adjunct faculty member. He has also taught at The Walden School (Young Composer Program), Urban School of San Francisco, San Francisco Conservatory’s Summer Music West, Indiana University, Bloomington, and Abington Friends School. Ted is available for private instruction in music composition, film scoring (creative and technical aspects), music theory, musicianship, and conducting. He holds a BA from Yale University and an MM from Indiana University, Bloomington, where he studied composition and conducting. In the first half of 2009, Ted will be composing scores for two upcoming features, beginning with MarVista Entertainment’s thriller, Nowhere to Hide.
